These Eyes mural wraps around the facade of Rudy's Barbershop at its West Seattle location on Fauntleroy, where it greets drivers as they enter the neighborhood. The mural presents a field of downcast cartoon eyes, an abstracted crowd that echoes the emotional disillusionment of the grunge era. 

Founded in Seattle during the rise of grunge, Rudy's grew alongside a culture defined by raw expression and individuality. The repeated eyes reflect that spirit, forming a collective portrait that balances anonymity with shared emotion.

The Mystic Oasis mural wraps a large nested box, anchoring the reception area at NBBJ’s Los Angeles office. 

Centered on themes of place, the artwork reimagines territorial landforms and native flora as they intersect with the built environment, with natural forms overtaking and softening constructed surfaces. Curious eyes peer through the dense flora, evoking a sense of discovery, searching, and exploration. 

The imagery draws from Southern California desert landscapes, incorporating abstracted references to native plants such as prickly pear, agave, and other regional species. A muted desert-inspired palette, punctuated by vibrant accents, creates visual contrast while complementing the design vision for the reception area remodel. The mural was developed as part of a broader NBBJ initiative to cultivate a welcoming and collaborative environment. 

The creation of Mystic Oasis was intentionally participatory. NBBJ employees were invited to contribute through guided fill areas, fostering a sense of ownership and camaraderie through a playful, hands-on process that resulted in paint-splattered work attire and even a memorable streak of color in a participant’s hair. 

Created in conjunction with Art Swagger, a portion of the mural was painted live during the fundraising event, offering guests an inside look at the mural-making process and an opportunity to engage directly with the artist.

Located in Seattle’s SODO district, at the corner of Sixth Avenue South and South Lander Street, this mural is part of the Hope Corps Downtown Seattle Mural Project. 

At the heart of the piece is a stylized Coho Salmon, rising above the river’s surface to playfully wave “hello” to passersby. Through lighthearted imagery, the mural contrasts the natural beauty of the nearby river with subtle references to its polluted reality. Discarded barrels float in the background, hinting at the environmental damage beneath the surface. 

This work serves both as a historical narrative and a somber reflection on the environmental cost of human progress. At the same time, it is a celebration of nature’s resilience. I chose the Coho Salmon as the focal point because they continue to return to the Duwamish River each year to spawn, and are one of the few species in the river still considered safe to fish. 

Ultimately, the mural carries a hopeful message: despite the odds, nature endures. Everything’s going to be fine.

Ozzy Outcast is a character inspired from a classic dry fly fishing lure. Part flying insect and part cartoon mascot, the figure features bright, high-contrast colors designed to attract attention, much like a fishing fly skimming the surface of a river.

The concept for this mural was to overlay the existing artwork with my signature camouflage, allowing portions of the original piece to remain visible through transparent layers of paint. This approach adds depth and texture to the new composition. 

The camouflage symbolizes adventure, exploration, and discovery. In this work, I explore the tension between standing out and blending in. The decoy represents attraction, it mimics the shapes within the camouflage pattern, allowing it to hide in plain sight.

The decoy represents attraction which mimics shapes found in the camo pattern allowing it to be hidden in plain site.
